Meghan Maugeri

But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on.

Welcome

Meghan is still trying to find herself just like the characters she writes. Her sixth grade students once had a competition to see who could lift her up the longest (as in literally lift her up off the ground.) She has since dedicated herself to crafting complex female-centric narratives in addition to authentic mental health stories. More than anything, she enjoys writing hopeful, funny tales as a reminder that, as one of her characters says, “Tomorrow can–and will–be a better day.” Her screenplay Lady Shakespeare was a 2023 Nicholl Fellowship Quarterfinalist. Her film Headwind won Best Narrative Short at The World Indie Film Festival. Her play Polar Bear Society has had readings across the country. Other plays, including comedy Mothers of the Bride, have been produced at the Bay Area’s Pear Theatre. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild as well as an alum of PlayGround Writers Company and Pear Playwrights Guild. Originally from Connecticut, she previously worked as a middle school teacher.
