But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on.

The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly

Decided to do a quick post called The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly after the movie. Why? Long story short: I’m writing a new play called Polar Bear Three and in a Halloween scene a character named Aiken dresses up as a slutty cowboy in assless chaps (to promote gender equality, obviously–if he expects girls to dress up in slutty costumes, he better be in a slutty costume himself!). So, anyway, when he enters a room, he plays the famous song from The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly out of a boombox he carries with him. Needless to say, he provides the comedic relief in an otherwise intense play.

Basically, I’ll have three sections named after the song and relate brief updates accordingly, serving as a window into steps forward and the rejection that comes with my current writing pursuits.

The Good

–a short film I wrote for May Yam Productions was selected for The Glendale Film Festival

–I completed a draft this week of the aforementioned full-length play Polar Bear Three

The Bad

–Not selected for #Pitchwars (about 2000 entries for 100 spots, but still)

The Ugly

–Though a screenplay I submitted to Nichols was given positive reviews and described as “charming” by both readers, it ultimately did not go onto the quarterfinals (The up side, a reader’s comment gave me a new and much better idea for how to approach the premise.)

For the bad & the ugly, not to worry, in customary fashion, I plan to rework and re-apply again next year.

Thanks for reading & keep truckin’!
