Playwriting News

Hi All! I wanted to update you on some playwriting news! First, I’m happy to announce that the full-length version of my comedy, Mothers of the Bride, was selected for a developmental reading at Pear Theatre in Mountain View, California. The reading will be held on November 16th at two o’clock, with a feedback session immediately following the show. I’m delighted that the three talented actors who performed the short version of this play (during Pear Slices) will be joining the cast, along with two new actors. I will post ticket information when it’s available.

I’m also pleased to announce that I will be joining the 2019-20 PlayGround Writer Company, the Bay Area’s leading playwright incubator. I’ll be writing five short plays on assigned topics over the course of six months, with each play written in just four days. Top plays from the group will be given staged readings during Monday Night PlayGround. The events are held at Berkeley Rep Theatre and showcase some of the Bay Area’s finest actors and directors. The group also includes a critique group with actors. As a new member, I’m not expecting to have any of my work showcased this year (it’s quite competitive). But, I’m excited to meet other theatre artists, develop new material, and learn from more experienced writers. Thanks to PlayGround for including me in this year’s company!
